GET INVOLVED IN THE LOCAL ART COMMUNITY!
The Bolingbrook Arts Council presents multiple opportunities for artist engagement throughout the year as part of its mission to promote, develop, and implement projects that enhance the artistic and cultural aesthetics of the Village of Bolingbrook. Ultimately we want to create a culture in Bolingbrook that embraces and financially supports working artists and artist groups.
ART IN THE WINDOWS
The Bolingbrook Arts Council and The Promenade Bolingbrook would like to have Bolingbrook artists and artisans display their work in storefront windows located on Sandburg Way of the Promenade. Your name and information will be displayed for a month, for free, along with your artwork. Please keep in mind that artwork displayed is subject to sun exposure that may cause damage to certain types of artwork over a prolonged period of time. Please take the steps necessary to protect sensitive artwork from UV rays or submit artwork that is not susceptible to UV exposure. A variety of artistic work can be displayed-- textiles, paintings, photography, woodwork, ceramics, glasswork, books, sculptures, etc.
If you are interested in having your work displayed at the Promenade, please fill out this form. Rolling submissions will be accepted and evaluated in the order that we receive them.
LOCAL ARTIST DIRECTORY
The Council would like to create a community directory of Bolingbrook artists, art organizations, and creatives that our community and its members can utilize as a resource, a contact list that fellow artists can use to network, and businesses can refer to for seeking clients. The directory will eventually be published on the Bolingbrook Arts Council website as well as shared through its various outreach platforms. This will be a free resource for Bolingbrook residents and Bolingbrook-based arts organizations.

CALL FOR BOLINGBROOK PERFORMANCE ARTISTS!
The Bolingbrook Arts Council is looking for talented Bolingbrook performance artists to be featured as an Opening Act for the Village of Bolingbrook sponsored Wednesday Night Concert Series (every Wednesday, July 14 - Aug18).
We are looking for artists to perform a 15-minute paid set, as an opener to the already scheduled bands at the Roger C. Claar Performing Arts Center on Wednesday nights, starting July 14th. Any kind of performance artist (musician, singer, dancer, comedian, spoken word artist, contortionist, juggler, magician, etc.) is encouraged to apply. Sound setup and space are minimal for the opening act, so we are looking for single artists or 2-3 piece ensembles. Live performance video footage is required for application. See our website for additional information and application. The deadline for application is at 11:59 pm CST on July 1.
Wednesday Night Concert Opening Act Details:
Application Deadline is July 1, 2021
We are looking for a variety of performance artists (think Bolingbrook’s Got Talent), from all different cultures and all different genres. Artists can be musicians, singers, dancers, comedians, spoken word artists, contortionists, jugglers, magicians, etc. Must be a family-friendly performance and the main applicant must be a Bolingbrook resident or work in Bolingbrook.
The 15-minute set will be from 7 pm-7:15 pm on Wednesday nights, between July 14 and Aug 18th. Payment will be a total of $50 for the set.
Artist(s) must be able to perform in a tight 50 square-foot curved space on stage, in front of the already setup equipment of the headlining band. The Performing Arts Center can provide a mic or two, as well as feed into their sound system. If a backing track or music will be used, it must be turned in on a CD or as an MP3 on a USB stick. Music on phones will not be played.
Musicians: Space and time is limited; the opening act must be able to come on stage, perform, and exit the stage quickly. Therefore, drum kit setups will not be allowed. Mobile percussive instruments that can be carried on by the artist will be allowed. Instruments used by the artist(s) must be carried on and off by the artist(s). A single amp can be fed into the sound system.
